I come from a very musical family and have been singing and playing for as long as I can remember. I learnt piano and clarinet from an early age and quickly discovered the ability to play by ear. Whilst I did study classically, I preferred more contemporary / jazz music and switched to the Saxophone when I was twelve.
My school actively encouraged music and I was lucky to be involved in numerous ensembles, bands and solo performances (including singing at the American Embassy). I was presented with the ‘Outstanding Commitment to Music’ award in my final year.
Over the years, I have performed and recorded with a number of bands playing pop and jazz funk / swing and jazz. Venues include – The Troubadour (London), The Mean Fiddler, The Arts Theatre (West End), The Railway Inn (Winchester), Sutton Music Festival, The Players Bar, Rock 'n' Bowl Festival, and improvising sets with DJs.
I continue with my own professional development and am trained in the ESTILL Voice Model. I also attend a variety of workshops and courses organised by some of the country's leading musicians.
